Sony has really managed to do a great CES this year, rolling out a very large number of new products, including here 3D-enabled solutions (both HDTVs and Blu-ray players). However, since there are a lot of consumers out there that prefer purchasing an entire home entertainment system rather than just a Blu-ray player or an HDTV, the Japanese company also released a couple of interesting solutions of this type at CES, some of them even supporting 3D playback.
The flagship home entertainment solution presented by Sony is the BDV-IZ1000W, displayed by the company as its first all-in-one home cinema system ready to play high-definition 3D content from Blu-ray Discs that can also access online video entertainment content from the BRAVIA Internet Video platform. And since we're on the subject of online, we'll have to add that the BDV-IZ1000W includes Entertainment Database Browser by Sony toaccess disc cover art, actor, and production information, as well as IP Content Noise Reduction technology and Precision Cinema HD Upscaling to improve standard definition and web video quality.

The BDV-IZ1000W sports five ultra slim speakers, using a virtual 7.1 wireless rear speaker system and 1000W of S-Master full digital technology by Sony. Also, unique to the new home cinema systems from Sony, users with an iPhone or iPod touch can control the players using a free app that can be downloaded from the Apple App Store. The app allows an iPhone or iPod touch to function as a remote control and includes the ability to access a Blu-ray disc’s details such as jacket artwork, actor, and production information, as well as search for additional video clips online.

Besides the BDV-IZ1000W, Sony also unveiled at CES the 850W BDV-E370 entertainment system, which features the same Monolithic Design Concept, and DCAC for simple set-up and flexible speaker placement. The system is wireless-LAN ready and supports upscaling of the played DVDs, and integrates four satellite speakers.That's also pretty much the case with the 1000W BDV-E870 system that, however, sports two tall speakers with 1,000W total output. The BDV-E970W also offers a 1,000W output, but features four tall speakers, two of which (the rear ones) are wireless.

Last, but certainly not least, Sony released two 2.1 entry-level home entertainment systems, namely the BDV-F700, which uses two ultra slim floorstanding speakers and a vertical main unit with illumination LED, plus S-Force Front Surround technology by Sony and 400W of S-Master digital amplification, and the BDV-F500, which uses desktop or wall mount speakers, and has 350W of S-Master amplification.

While pricing details are yet to be announced, Sony does inform us that all of these home entertainment systems should make their way onto the market over the course of 2010, starting with BDV-E370 and BDV-E870 in March, BDV-F500 and BDV-F700 in April, BDV-E970W in June, and BDV-IZ1000W in September.

Sony's gone all out with LEDs this year, unlike 2009. And yes, their highest end models have local dimming LEDs. We just can't say whether these models will have equal counterparts in India.
The most interesting new models are the LX900 series which include 3D, when paired with Sony’s 3D active shutter glasses and 3D transmitter. Models in the LX900, HX900, NX800, and NX700 series feature Sony’s all new monolithic design. Other features include Motionflow 240Hz Technology for Smooth Motion, Integrated Wi-Fi wireless network capabilities (802.11), BRAVIA Internet Video and BRAVIA Internet Widgets, BRAVIA Engine 3, USB and DLNA photo/music/video playback etc.

Logitech is one of the best-known names in the computer peripherals, gaming and home entertainment industries, releasing a very large number of products each year, whether we're talking about wireless audio systems, mice and keyboards, gaming accessories, etc.

Each year, they organize special events for the press, during which they present their latest innovations, in just about every country where one can find their products. We've recently attended such an event, where we've had the chance to get very close and personal with quite a few of the company's latest products. And within this article we'll give you a complete tour of the most interesting models we found on display, ranging from the Illuminated Keyboard to a wireless racing wheel designed especially for the PS3.

One of the most remarkable things worth mentioning about the event as a whole is its concept. Thus, the company's representatives had arranged the respective location in such a way so as to replicate the various rooms in a house, with every corner of this "home" being filled with the company's goodies.First of all, there was the "living room" area, where we could find some of the manufacturer's products designed especially to create a high-end home entertainment system. We were able to "feast" our eyes and ears on a Squeezebox Boom wireless audio system, the Z-5 omnidirectional stereo speakers for PC and the Z-5500 5.1 surround audio system. Of course, in order to control all of these products, there was also a Harmony One universal remote control thrown in the mix.

Plus, since there are quite a lot of people whose computers have become integral parts of their home entertainment systems, we could also find there some of the company's notebook stands, plus a few very attractive peripherals, such as the DiNovo mini keyboard or the very famous illuminated one.Within the same room, there was a secondary area, which represented the bedroom. There, we could find a special "Mac" area, with some of Logitech's products designed to work with Mac systems as well (such as the QuickCam Vision Pro, the Z-5 speakers for Mac and the DiNovo keyboard for Mac). However, since we were talking, after all, about a bedroom, there was also a Pure-Fi Anytime system, designed to dock iPods and also double as an alarm clock.

Then, there was the "kid's" room, although, to tell you the truth, it was more of a gaming area. There, I could find two systems, completed with some of the company's high-end webcams (like the QuickCam Pro for notebooks), as well as some of the latest peripherals, such as the Wave Keyboard and Mouse combo and the DiNovo keyboard.However, the main point of attraction in this particular area was represented by the racing zone, where we could find Logitech's Driving Force GT racing wheel and also took a very quick look at the Driving Force Wireless, designed especially for the PS3 racing games.

And in order to provide some musical "atmosphere", there was a Pure-Fi Express Plus, an omnidirectional stereo speaker system for iPod/iPhone with a built-in alarm clock. Moreover, in order to allow the other guests to keep an eye on what was going on within the gaming area, there was an Indoor Video Security Master System installed, which streamed a live feed (via the powerlines) directly to the HDTV installed in the "living room."

Perhaps in order to keep the keen eyes of both consumers and press away from the huge scandal involving its top management, the Korean company Samsung has decided that this is the best time to throw some pretty nifty new products on the market, some of them designed especially to occupy the central position in the users' entertainment centers.

So, without further ado, let's see what old Sammy has in store for us: first of all, the company has unveiled two brand new lines of LCD HDTVs, the Series 6 650 and Series 7 750; then, in order to offer users something to play their Blu-ray movies on, Samsung has also announced the release of a fourth generation Blu-ray player, the BD-P1500, accompanied by the HT-AS720 Home Theater Audio System.First of all, let's see what the LCDs are all about. According to the company's statement, the main point of attraction offered by the new Series 6 650 and Series 7 750 is Samsung's ToC (Touch of Color) design, which features a hint of red color naturally blended into a semi-transparent piano black bezel, allowing the HDTV to harmonize with any décor.

However, the devices provide a lot more than a nice exterior. Thus, the Series 6 and 7 LCD HDTVs deliver a superior 1080p picture with up to a 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, featuring crisp detail and vibrant colors supported by Samsung's Auto Motion Plus 120Hz and Ultra Clear Panel technologies.
Beyond improving picture quality, the Series 6 and Series 7 LCD HDTVs also offers users Samsung's InfoLink RSS service powered by USA Today, as well as access to the user’s digital media via USB 2.0 with WiseLink.

It's also interesting to mention that users are given quite a wide range of purchase choices. Thus, the Series 6 Full HD LCD TVs are supposed to already be available in the following sizes: 19.0-inches, 22.0-inches, 31.5-inches, 39.9-inches, 45.9-inches and 52.2-inches, with the price tags ranging from around 500 US dollars up to 3,200 US dollars. On the other hand, the 39.9-inch, 45.9-inch and 52.0-inch models from the 7 series will hit the shelves at some point in May 2008, their prices ranging between $2,600 and 3,500.

As mentioned earlier, the Korean company has also announced the release of a 4th generation Blu-ray player, the BD-P1500, supposed to significantly improve the home viewing experience. Furthermore, the BD-P1500 can upconvert standard DVDs to 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolutions and offers Full HD video playback capabilities for very clear pictures.
Designed with fans of multimedia technology in mind, the BD-P1500 easily connects to other digital devices through an HDMI 1.3 port with CEC for expanded color delivery and easy home theater control. The P1500 has BD Profile 1.1 Bonus View and is BD Live Ready. With its built-in Ethernet connection and USB input users can quickly upgrade their BD-P1500 with the latest firmware which ensures the player remains at the cutting edge of Blu-ray technology.
