GPS Camera from EKA launched in India
EKA Designs, a company that focuses on design and development of both hardware and software products, has launched Field Ready GPS Camera in India, that can be used in different environments to tag the locational coordinates onto the picture along with altitude and date/time. EKA Designs has built the GPS receiver SE-1 around the RICOH 500 SE Digital Camera, which is a field ready, 8 MP, wireless and Bluetooth enabled digital camera.A unique feature of the camera is that users can tag memos to the pictures taken right on the camera display unit. Ricoh Camera is built for Single Hand operation with extensive features such as dust, rain and water proof. A variant of the Field Ready GPS Camera is the SE-3 that can also determine the direction from which the photograph was taken. This feature is very useful in critical applications for drawing boundaries, analyzing pictures of natural disasters etc.Planning is a crucial activity in any field of activity, more so in the Geographical information System, (GIS).Before planning any field activity whether to put up water pipes, laying power or optical fiber cables, or to erect electrical or cell phone towers, locations have to determined. For this purpose, Field Ready GPS Cameras such as the one developed by EKA Designs will come in handy. Whenever a user takes a picture with the Field Ready GPS Camera, automatically, the latitude and longitude will be embedded on to the picture along with altitude and date/time information. When the pictures are loaded onto the computer, they can be linked to popular mapping softwares such as Google Earth and arcGIS world leaders in their respective fields.

LG has announced yet another touch screen handset that could be their next iKiller. The KC910 will be going up against the other 8 megapixel camera phones out there like Samsung’s INNOV8 and of course SE’s C905 both of which happen to be sliders unlike the 910 which is simply a touch screen handset.It has a 3-inch TFT touch screen with a 240 x 400 pixel resolution and 256k colors. Aside from the 8MP auto-focus camera that uses Schneider-Kreuznach optics and has a Xenon flash, it’s able to record video with VGA (30fps) and QVGA (120fps) quality. The camera also uses a geo-tagging feature that works in tandem with its onboard GPS receiver. With regards to connectivity the handset supports Wi-fi, 3G with HSDPA, Bluetooth with A2DP support and of course USB connectivity as well.The KC910 also has a lot to offer in the media department with a preloaded codec that supports Xvid and DivX video playback and Dolby sound for music. Other features also include microSD support for external memory and a TV out feature. Reports also state that unlike the other 8MP camera phones I mentioned, this one will be thinner considering it doesn’t have a keypad.
The LG KC910 is an upgrade to the KU990 Viewty. Although no official price has been announced the handset should be in stores by October.

Lenovo debuts Netbook Market With IdeaPad
Lenovo has entered the netbook market with the IdeaPad S9 and S10 netbooks.The netbooks are approximately one inch thin and weigh just over two pounds.The S9 has an 8.9-inch screen while the S10 has a 10.2-inch screen. Both models come in glossy deep blue, ruby red and classic black. Lenovo has designed the keyboard to be 85 percent the size of a full-function notebook PC's keyboard, and an energy-efficient LED backlit display helps provide longer battery life than traditional displays.The netbooks feature Wi-fi and optional Bluetooth connectivity and also have an Express Card slot so users can enable the netbook for optional high speed mobile broadband connectivity. The netbooks feature a built-in web camera, two USB ports, a 4-in-1 multicard reader and come equipped with either Microsoft Windows XP or Linux.
The IdeaPad netbooks offer up to 1 GB of memory and either 80 GB or 160 GB hard disk drive space.
Lenovo has engineered the netbooks to reduce the heat emitted on key contact areas such as the bottom of the PC, the palm rest and the keyboard.
Additionally, Lenovo's OneKey Rescue System on Microsoft Windows-based netbooks helps users recover data at the touch of a button should a system error or virus occur.
The IdeaPad netbooks will be available in September in India at all Lenovo authorized storefronts, for approximately Rs. 15, 000 for the S9 and Rs. 17,000 for the S10.
