Introducing India's phone with windows 7

After months of waiting, India has finally gotten its first Windows Phone 7 release – and there are two of them! The HTC India website has showcased the HD7 and the 7 Mozart, smartphones running the Microsoft smartphone OS. The phones mobilepack in plenty of features like a 1GHz processor, 720p video recording and an internal GPS antenna along with the standard WP7 features like Zune and XBOX Live integration.
The HD7 sports a 4.3-inch multi-touch display at a 480x800 (WVGA) resolution. Its connectivity options include GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi along with Bluetooth 2.1, a standard micro-USB interconnector and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It has 16GB of internal storage and 576MB RAM, a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash and 720p HD video recording.

The HTC 7 Mozart is nearly identicalto the HD7, apart from the following specs. The internal storage and screen size are a reduced 8GB and 3.7-inches respectively, but it sports an improved 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus and Xenon flash and supports 720p HD video recording as well.

Kinwei introduces its innovative KW-GM4306TG GPS navigation system with an in-built 8-bit gaming system. Powered by Samsung ARM9 400MHz processor, the KW-GM4306TG navigation system runs on Microsoft Windows CE.NET 4.2.

The KW-GM4306TG GPS navigation system bundles up a 4.3″ screen, 64MB SDRAM ROM, 256MB NAND flash, high sensitive SiRF III antenna with 20 channels and a controller for the games.With its AV-in port, you can connect a rear view camera to its 4.3″ screen. It also offers ARMV4I compilation, built-in Bluetooth module, memory card slot, built-in 3.7V Li-ion battery and supports multiple languages.

GPS Camera from EKA launched in India

EKA Designs, a company that focuses on design and development of both hardware and software products, has launched Field Ready GPS Camera in India, that can be used in different environments to tag the locational coordinates onto the picture along with altitude and date/time. EKA Designs has built the GPS receiver SE-1 around the RICOH 500 SE Digital Camera, which is a field ready, 8 MP, wireless and Bluetooth enabled digital camera.A unique feature of the camera is that users can tag memos to the pictures taken right on the camera display unit. Ricoh Camera is built for Single Hand operation with extensive features such as dust, rain and water proof. A variant of the Field Ready GPS Camera is the SE-3 that can also determine the direction from which the photograph was taken. This feature is very useful in critical applications for drawing boundaries, analyzing pictures of natural disasters etc.

Planning is a crucial activity in any field of activity, more so in the Geographical information System, (GIS).Before planning any field activity whether to put up water pipes, laying power or optical fiber cables, or to erect electrical or cell phone towers, locations have to determined. For this purpose, Field Ready GPS Cameras such as the one developed by EKA Designs will come in handy. Whenever a user takes a picture with the Field Ready GPS Camera, automatically, the latitude and longitude will be embedded on to the picture along with altitude and date/time information. When the pictures are loaded onto the computer, they can be linked to popular mapping softwares such as Google Earth and arcGIS world leaders in their respective fields.
