echochrome ii has 100 built in levels and there are three different ways to enjoy each one. Navigating the character to the goal by creating a shadow path is called “escort” mode. Additionally, there is “echo” mode and “paint” mode. In “echo” mode, the objective is to collect the ghost-looking characters called “echo.” You will see a few of them in each level, so collect them all to clear the stage. In “paint” mode, the characters are colored in red, green, or blue. When the characters walk, they will color any blocks that are creating the shadows they’re walking on. A red character makes a red block and a blue character makes a blue one. Each time you color a block, your clear percentage will increase. Your goal is to reach the target percentage to clear the level.

Sony Corp said on Thursday that it would launch a higher-capacity PlayStation 3 model in North America, as the company continues its effort to make its home console the digital hub of the living room.
The new 250 gigabyte PS3 will be available Nov. 3 for $349.99, giving consumers two configurations to choose from. The company's 120 GB PS3 sells for $299.99 following a recent price cut. Sony is battling with Microsoft Corp , maker of the Xbox 360 console, to become the leader in the digital distribution of content, including games and movies, in the home. John Koller, director of hardware marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America, said the company was seeing "significant traction" over the past year in distributing content over its PlayStation Network and that many people need more room to store all of it. "Consumers that are coming into the market want to be able to download and own HD movies, large-scalegames, those types of things on a hard drive." The new larger-capacity PS3 will be the same size as the existing model, known as the PS3 Slim. The 250 GB PS3 has already been announced in Asia and European markets. Sony is currently the No. 3 home console maker in the United States, behind Microsoft and Japan's Nintendo, maker of the Wii. Microsoft and Nintendo have also recently cut prices. Koller said Sony was "really bullish" on PS3's prospects for the holiday season, with demand exceeding its expectations. "A lot of retailers are continuing to ask us for more, more, more, and that's a good problem to have," Koller said. "... The $299 price drop has really instigated a tidal wave of consumers that have maybe been sitting on the sidelines."

Sega is a very popular company, having gained a lot of fans in the 1990s when it was one of the biggest developers and publishers of games for the consoles of the time, like the SNES or PlayStation 1. Although not a lot has been heard about the company these days, it still manages to release quite a few titles that are sure to have some very decent sales, like Football Manager.Recently the Japanese company announced that it would be releasing a collection of 40 games that originally appeared on the Sega Genesis console. The pack, entitled Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection, is slated for an early 2009 release and will contain very popular titles like Sonic 1, 2, and 3, the Streets of Rage series, Ecco the Dolphin or Space Harrier.
It will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, with a native resolution of 720p by using animations that are a bit more blurry, to mask the pixels that might ruin the whole gaming experience. The pack will also contain some of the popular titles from the 8-bit collection of 1980s Sega games."SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is a must-have for any SEGA enthusiast," commented Gary Knight, European marketing director for SEGA Europe. "Fans will get a chance to relive fond memories from these classic games in HD format."
This is definitely great news for retro fans who have some very fond memories with a lot of these classic titles. These games had a massive fan base when they were launched back in the day, and now, a lot of people are sure to grab this collection, for the chance to relive those past experiences.
The decision to revamp some older titles isn't a new strategy in the game world, as Capcom will employ it with the classic Street Fighter franchise, with Street Fighter IV and the HD version of Super Street Fighter II Remix. It definitely looks like retro gaming is the new direction the big companies are heading in.

One of the high points with the technology used in Sony's Playstation 3 console is the Cell processor technology. A similar concept could be coming to the PC, and you'll have Toshiba to thank, not Sony.Toshiba's SpursEngine is based on the same Cell processor technology as found in the PS3 and is used to process HD video with its four Cell cores. The technology makes easy work out of encoding and decoding HD content and can upscale standard-definition video to high-definition video without bogging down the CPU. Toshiba is already using the technology in its Qosmio G50 and F40 notebooks and hopes to expand to the desktop market via add-in cards by the end of the years.LeadTek and Thomson are already on board with plans to release a SpursEngine card within the next few weeks. LeadTek's version is expected to debut this month at about $286 and its Winfast PxVC 1100 card has already been shown at the Ceatec Exhibition in Japan. Thomson is targeting a November release in the $375 to $400 range.

Sony Computer Entertainment America announces that the PlayStation 3

console is getting a new bundle, aimed at the North American market. The bundle is released because of the upcoming launch of a limited edition of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The bundle is set to retail for close to 500 dollars, specifically 499.99 dollars, and the package will include a 160 GB PlayStation 3 system, a copy of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, which was created by Naughty Dog, a PlayStation Network voucher which will get you downloadable game Pain from Idol Minds and a DualShock 3 wireless controller.Jack Tretton, who is the president and the CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, explained the increased hard drive of the bundled console by saying that "As PlayStation Network continues to evolve with our recently-launched video delivery service and more exclusive games, PS3 owners are demanding more storage capacity".
It was widely anticipated that Sony would create a console variant with a bigger hard drive but some analysts also expected to see an across the board price cut for the console. Sony seems to believe that storage capacity is more important to potential buyers than price and sales of the new bundle will prove whether they are right or not.
Sony also says that a Wireless Keypad will be launched. The new peripheral will be attached to the Sixaxis and to the DualShock 3 and will make its first appearance in North America in November.
The new Wireless Keypad will be used to access the text chat communication service which is implemented in PlayStation 3. A Communication Button and a Message Box Button are included so that users can jump to the XMB while playing a game. It seems that the new peripheral can also be used with some smartphones and with other portable devices.
Sony says that LittleBigPlanet and PlayStation Home will offer full support for the new Wireless Keypad. Prices have not been revealed for the moment.Source : Softpedia.com

In an effort to expand the profile of the PlayStation 3 and to further promote the console as a multimedia hub designed not only for games but also for movies and video, Sony has decided to unveil a new service called Vidzone, which will allow users of the gaming consoles to use their Internet connection to download music videos. This is not the same thing as the much talked about service which will allow people to download full movies on their PlayStation 3 consoles. Vidzone is only designed to work with music videos and will apparently allow users to build and save a music library, then make their own playlists and even access the playlists created remotely via the PlayStation Portable. David Reeves, who is the head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, also says that ringtones will be available for download for mobile phones through Vidzone. No fees have been disclosed at the moment and the new service is set to arrive early in 2009.In addition to Vidzone, Sony is also planning to release, in the third quarter of 2009, a music download service which will most likely rival iTunes, but details are very scarce at the moment, mainly because Sony does not want to reveal too much this early.
The Xbox 360 from Microsoft has recently benefited from a Netflix which is designed to make the console a hub that can deliver, on demand, movies from the vast back library of the company. Sony is eager to respond with a similar deal but, at the moment, they are forced to rely on smaller initiatives, like Vidzone, to maintain interest in the PlayStation 3 while the video rental service is in development.
Many would argue that, with the Xbox 360 shifting to be more of a social console, as seen at the E3 presentation, Sony would do well to try positioning the PlayStation 3 as the "hardcore" gaming console again.Source : Softpedia.com

Sony Computer Entertainment’s 3D puzzle game ‘Echochrome’ is now available for the PSP at almost all major retailers across India. The game’s available for Rs. 999, and here’s a little about it:It’s a simple concept: guide your walker through a series of 3D black and white mazes. At first glance, it seems impossible: the mazes contain holes, dead-ends and impossible-to-reach walkways and you find yourself walking in circles. However, by using the simple controls, you can tilt your view of the world, and before you know it, what you see is what you get. By viewing the maze from a completely new angle, you create a completely new maze. Rotate the maze to make a hole disappear behind a column, create a new walkway or join a staircase to another walkway. With a little perseverance, you can manipulate the maze to walk wherever you like.

As the PlayStation Day Europe event wrapped up, interest in the gaming console from Sony has increased in the game media again, especially as David Reeves, the head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, has stated that the PS3 has outsold the Xbox 360 in Europe in absolute numbers, by breaking the5 million sales mark.
Now there's talk that the 40 GB version of the console is due for a make-over and that a new, improved version will make its way to retailers in the near future. But, talking to Eurogamer, Reeves pointed out to another possible development regarding the console: the addition of more storage space through additional hard drives. He declared: "We launched with 60GB and to reduce the price we went to 40GB. We're not sure we want to stay with that configuration of hard drive, and I think what you're going to see in the future is maybe consumers can choose".
It's not clear whether Sony is ready to offer customized hard drives that can connect easily to the gaming console, but the head of SCEE really played up the fact that the customer can choose, saying "It might be that we will offer the possibility for people to have a bigger hard drive, but they have that option now. But it does not mean that we have anything in the works to introduce a different model or bigger hard drive built in." There's quite a bit of ambiguity in that statement.
At the moment, you can use external hard drives to augment the storage on the PS3. All you need is a USB cable and the external hard drive, preferably a big one with a substantial transfer speed. There's also the slightly more invasive option of replacing the hard drive in the console with a new one, using laptop specific models with SATA configurations. As of now, we can only speculate on whether a Sony proprietary solution is to be added to the above.
