Benq amazes us once again with the launch of the new compact classy digital camera. The DC X725 is as small as 12.5 millimeters, and the material from which it is made of is steel, so it is stainless and more resistant. It comes in four different colors, black, red silver, or pearl. It has a 1/2.5 CCD and can go up to 3x optical zoom. The ISO sensitivity can go up to 1600 on photos and 4000 on videos. You can also increase the memory, as ithas an SD/SDHC memory card support. The range of mega pixels is, for the time being, unknown, but we can assume it has more then the previous release of Benq that had 7.2. We also have no information regarding the price.

Hasselblad can already boast bringing the first digital camera to market outfitted with Kodak's wicked 50 megapixel sensor, but the flagship H3DII-50 won't have much time to sail the high MP seas by its lonesome. Hasselblad CEO Christian Poulsen promises a 60MP version will debut in April 2009.Of course, digital photographers know that it isn't necessarily the size of the megapixel that counts, but how you use it. Even still, 60MP sounds pretty damn awesome. That will give the H3DII-60 a 94 percent full frame coverage, and Poulsen wants to make clear that "although we hear the phrase 'full frame' being used quite frequently, no manufacturer has yet achieved true medium full frame."Not that it needs any reaffirming, but the new 60MP DSLR won't come cheap. Expect to pay a smidge over $27,000 for the bragging rights.

5 megapixel camera phone the name has not yet been fixed. From the looks of the design it seems to be a very classy slider with LG’s touch sensitive technology for navigation. It doesn’t look like it would incorporate the same technology as the KF600 with intuitive icons for navigating menus but more like the KF510 with the animated LEDs.Other specs would include an LED flash for the camera, a secondary camera for video calling, microSD card support for external memory and possibly 160MB of internal memory. Speculation also says that this handset might also have a reinforced scratch-resistant glass display. As of now it’s just an announcement but it shouldn’t be too long before the official release. Stay Tuned.Read d rest...
CMOS modules for cellphones have not been able to match the image quality that is delivered by much larger CMOS versions or CCDs in digital cameras. The simple fact that this chip can output more pixels does not really change the circumstance that sensors on the chip are exposed to significantly less light. So don’t expect much more than snapshot capability from such a chip, even with that monster resolution.
However, aside from that, there are some interesting features included in this chip – such as a sensitivity of ISO 1600 and a focal length of F2.6 to make the device more usable in low light conditions.Samsung Korea said it will use the sensor in its own phones by the end of the year and, as always, the company is always interested in licensing its technology to other parties. Cellphones are typically designed in an 18-month design/development cycle, so there is a good chance that we will see 8 megapixel phones in 2009, if the technology is adopted. As a side note, this 8 megapixel capability would perfectly fit to Nvidia's upcoming System-on-Chip (APX2500) and STMicro’s SoC that is based on ATI technology. We have some doubts that we will actually see 8 megapixel phones here in the U.S. this year, as mainstream and even higher-end phones in this country seem stuck at the 1.3, 2 or 3.2 megapixel point (yes, we know, there are exceptions such as the outrageously expensive Nokia N95). 5-megapixel CMOS sensors have been available for several years and they still have trouble making their way to the consumer. Once Blackberrys and the iPhone have a 5 megapixel camera, we will be more optimistic that 8 megapixel cellphones are actually on their way.
