Bose has just launched a set of headphones called the AE2. These headphones have not incorporated Bose legendary noise cancellation technology, but include a more sophisticated application of the proprietary Bose TriPort acoustic headphone structure. Bose says that this technology drastically improves the quality of sound, as a result of which, music sounds better and more natural throughout the frequency spectrum. The Bose AE2 headphones are circum-aural (around the ear), and the new ear cushions are made of memory foam which so that they can be worn by people with different head shapes. They also distribute weight more evenly around the ear to reduce pressure points, making the overall experience a lot more comfortable.
These headphones can be used with just about any audio device including the iPod, iPhone, iPad, portable media players and computers. The headphones have a new fold-flat ear cup design and a single, detachable cable and can be stored in the carrying case that has been provided by Bose.
In the headphone realm, Bose is probably bestknown for its noise-canceling (NC) line of QuietComfort models. But it islong made some non-NC models, including an around-the-ear design as well as an on-ear design. Bose has shortened those names to AE and OE, respectively, and now the AE model reviewed here is up to version 2.
Formerly known as the TriPort, the AE2 still uses the same basic design, but Bose has implemented some significant design improvements. For starters, these headphones, like the noise-canceling models, now fold flat. Also, Bose has moved from a double- (running to each earcup) to a single-cord design and the headphone cord detaches which means you can wear these simply to cover your ears and muffle sound.

Bose launches Computer MusicMonitor

Bose has introduced Computer MusicMonitor, debuting proprietary technology to offer a new level of audio quality from two very small, powered speakers. The Computer MusicMonitor has been developed for listening with laptop and desktop computers. Bose says that these speakers incorporate a technology that enables them to deliver deep low notes from very small enclosures: the dual internal opposing passive radiators. With this technology, Bose engineers have used two small passive radiators per speaker rather than one larger one. By placing the passive radiators in an opposing fashion, the primary mechanical vibrations created byone are canceled by the other. This preserves the desired audio quality and keeps the small enclosures from moving across a desk when played. The passive radiators are configured inside the enclosure, and the sound is symmetrically distributed through a small slot that runs side-to-side through the enclosure. Previously, passive radiators needed to face outward, requiring visible grilles on the enclosure.
Computer MusicMonitor features an aluminum enclosure. Bose says that it dissipates heat effectively, withstands the high pressure created within the small acoustic package, and provides a clean and modern look.
Its setup is simple. All required cables are included; with today's computers, no additional software or soundcard is needed to play downloaded music, Internet radio, and other content. There are two ways to operate the on/off and volume: via the system's remote control or by using the buttons discreetly positioned on the side of the right speaker.
The Bose MusicMonitor will be available this month for an announced minimum reselling price of Rs. 21263. It will be available at Bose retail stores, Boseindia.com, and the company's toll free number.

Why do we compare two products every now and then? Mostly due to the fact that boredom hits us pretty often, and sometimes for reasons of pure debate.
Today it turned out that Siddharth (who suffers from what we call "4 o'clock syndrome", when effervescence takes over his otherwise quiet self) wanted to pit his blah against my Bose QC3. Also, if you are an audiophile with some extra dough to spend, here's a reason why you should pick a winner.
Design and Comfort
First of all, more for our pleasure than yours, we will compare the two aesthetically. Sennheiser has always been one to ensure good-looking products, and we are not in the least bit surprised to see the PXC 350 win hands down. You may think otherwise, but right now it’s what we say that matters. But we don’t mind elaborating a bit.Sennheiser has adhered to ‘black is elegant’ theme throughout, with a hard plastic outer covering for the drivers and headphone, though soft black cushions line the inner surface of the band and act as comfortable ear pads for the large oval cans.Bose on the other hand has kept the blacks limited to the headband, while the cans have metallic silver and a brushed aluminum finish. For your information, in design the PXC 350 is circumaural and the QC3 is supra-aural. Surprisingly, the problem with the QC3 is that it weighs down heavily on the ears after a while, something we didn’t experience with the PXC 350.
The Sennheiser sits nicely around the ears, and doesn’t make its presence felt unless the active noise cancellation is on (more on this later). Aesthetically, the Sennheiser looks more appealing, but frankly the QC is not far behind.
