Gigabyte launches its highly anticipated EP45-Extreme series of motherboards which aims at the overclocking segment of the motherboard market. Currently the series includes GA-EP45T-Extreme and GA-EP45-Extreme for DDR3 and DDR2 users respectively.

The EP45-Extreme motherboards are based on Intel P45 Express chipset and supports Intel multi-core processors up to FSB 1600MHz. They offer dual LAN with a teaming functionality that provides ultra bandwidth for gaming servers.Gigabyte motherboards come with a unique Hybrid Silent-Pipe slot cooling system, allowing convection of air and cools off the North and the South Bridges without using the fan. It can be used with water block cooling systems which additionally enhance the thermal performance.

The EP45-Extreme motherboards possess various LEDs indicating the status of voltage, overclocking etc. such as an 80 Port Debug LED, overclocking alert LEDs, overvoltage alert LEDs and temperature alert LEDs.

The Gigabyte EP45-Extreme motherboards come with Hardware Overvoltage Control ICs that allow much finer voltage control by adjusting the voltage in smaller increments like 20mV (or 0.002V) to improve overclocking and tweaking. The motherboards have a 12 + 2 + 2 Phase power design. Some other features are Gigabyte Ultra Secure and Ultra Power Efficient Technologies, Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced, Dual BIOST- Patented Dual Hardware BIOS Protection, High Velocity 2X Bandwidth Boost, redesigned EasyTune6 and Dolby Home Theater suite of audio technologies.

The Gigabyte EP45-Extreme motherboards will be available in India at Avnet India, Ingram Micro, Redington, Sahara Computers and Electronics and Technology and Gadgets.
