Whether you're rescuing hostages, on a quest with your guild or saving humanity, you don't want to worry about hand fatigue or hitting the wrong key. Today, Logitech introduced the Logitech G13 advanced gameboard - a hybrid gaming keyboard designed to complement your Logitech keyboard and mouse - giving you game-changing comfort and control on a Mac computer or a PC.
"If you're into serious gaming, there's no better feeling than playing with the G13 gameboard by your side," said Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech's director of product marketing for gaming. "Unlike other gameboards that focusonly on programmability, the G13 advanced gameboard incorporates the principles of our award-winning Comfort Wave design. So whether you're getting into World of Warcraft or walking into your next LAN party, the G13 gameboard gives you a powerful advantage over those forced to work with less."

With its sculpted, ergonomically inspired shape and pushing-the-envelope functionality, the Logitech G13 advanced gameboard completes your search for gear, augmenting a Logitech G15 keyboard for gaming and a Logitech G9 Laser Mouse.

Delivering increased comfort, the iconic contoured design complements the natural shape of your hand and fingers, while the smooth, concave home-row keys make it easy to locate buttons by touch. With three game modes, 25 programmable keys and a programmable analog stick, the G13 gameboard offers up to 87 ways for you to control your game (software installation required). And you can set up custom button-profiles for each one of your favorite titles. You can even create macros on the fly without having to pause your game.

And for another tactical advantage, the 160-by-43-pixel GamePanel LCD shows live game stats, system info and even messages from other players.

With the G13 gameboard, you'll also get backlit keys that help you easily locate the right key in low-light conditions or lights-out play. And you can select from hundreds of available backlight colors, so your gameboard looks just the way you want it.

A handy solution for the laptop gamer, the G13 gameboard includes onboard memory, letting you program up to five ready-to-play profiles and take them with you to your next LAN party. The G13 gameboard also offers pre-configured settings for many popular games, including World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade, Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and many others.

With its sturdy weight and strategically placed feet, the G13 gameboard won't move during gameplay, giving you rock-solid support all the way to victory.

Pricing and Availability
The Logitech G13 advanced gameboard is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe in December for a suggested retail price of $79.99 (U.S.).

Logitech has announced the availability of even more features for its already highly customizable Logitech G9 Laser Mouse. The tune up options offered for gamers include weight tuning, interchangeable grips, and custom-color LEDs. The company now enables users to make their G9 mouse even more personal with the introduction of the Logitech G9 Laser Mouse ID Grip, through means of printing an image of their choice on the palm area of the grip. Logitech allows them to use game-specific artwork, select images from the company's gallery, or provide an image of their own.

“In surveying gamers who own a Logitech mouse, we learned that more than 65 percent want to mod their hardware,” said Rory Dooley, Logitech senior vice president and general manager of the Control Devices business unit. “The Logitech G9 Laser Mouse ID Grip provides gamers with new level of personalization. Whether it's a guild logo or a personal photo, we're delighted to give gamers the ability to make the G9 mouse even more a reflection of their unique personality.”

The company has also announced that it can offer images that won't fade when subjected to intense gaming, as a specially designed custom printing process is used to infuse the rub- and fade-proof image into the surface of the grip. The process results in a high-quality, high-resolution color image meant to personalize the G9 mouse. The process of adding an image to the grip is an easy one, as it implies choosing an image from game-specific artwork, such as Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 from Electronic Arts Inc., or upload a user's personal image. We should mention that there are some restrictions that apply here, as uploads are subject to technical and image-content requirements.

The new Logitech grip also comes with a new shape, besides the personalization options it offers. The broad-shaped grip offers palm and wrist support, and has been developed to withstand extended gameplay, while also being able to offer comfort to gamers with larger hands. In addition, more pleasure during short gaming sessions and epic battles is available through a soft-touch side grip. The new ID Grip also features ease to attach or detach to and from the G9 Laser Mouse, as the moves can be made through the push of a single button.

Interesting innovations are taking place along with evolution of new products, both in terms of hardware and software. In keeping with the general trend, Asus has introduced the Vito W1, a wireless laser mouse that monitors heart rate, in Taiwan. The Vito W1 has HeartTouching feature that tracks heart rate to identify the user's mood and display the emotional state.

Physically, Vito W1 features a small 2.4GHz USB receiver, offers 1200dpi sensitivity with five programmable keys and maximum 30 feet working range.Using mice for longer period or those with odd shapes leaves cramped hand and several painful problems. The W1 would be fun if the software can be customized to pop-up in 'exciting' situations while playing games like Fear, Silent Hill or Manhunt.
