Hewlett-Packard (HP) has been treading on the green path for quite some time. The company introduced product recycling way back in 1987, followed by regular initiatives intended to reduce the harsh impact of technology on our environment.

The company is now introducing an environmentally-friendly label for some of its products that would go by the name "HP Eco Highlights". The label will be adorned by HP products like printers and other tools that would help consumers reduce damage to the environment.Reportedly, one of the first products to have been launched under this label is HP's D2545 Deskjet, a green-focused printer made up of 83 percent recycled plastic, the company claims. The ink cartridges used by the printer too are made up of recycled plastic resins. The D2545 is retailing for $45 in America.

Other HP products under the "Eco Highlights" label include three LaserJet printers including P4015x, P4515x, and P4515xm. The company plans to extend the label to all of its products in future.
