In a double whammy for gamers, Dell has launched the XPS 730 H2C Edition, a premier gaming desktop, and the XPS M1730 notebook, also called 'the beast', which is the world's first NB to incorporate AGEIA PhysX mobile technology plus Logitech GamePanel LCD.

First up, the XPS 730 H2C claims to bring together cutting-edge technologies that gamers today really crave:
# new Nvidia nforce 790i Ultra SLI chipset with standard ATX motherboard, one of the industry's most overclockable platforms for Intel processors.# support for various optional high-performance graphics solutions, including ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 in four-way CrossFireX or Nvidia GeForce 8800GT with SLI technology

# up to four hard drives factory-installed, supporting various high-performance RAID arrays

Dell claims the optional patent-pending H2C cooling solution too is enhanced; the two-stage ceramic cooling solution is redesigned to fit an ATX motherboard. Other enhancements include: redesigned CPU cold plate providing more uniform cooling to all four processor cores, additional cold plate for cooling the chipset, added dynamic speed control to the pump and fans to eliminate audible noise, and separate fan for assured cooling of the CPU's voltage regulator components.

Under-the-hood details of the XPS 730 H2C Edition include: standard ATX motherboard, 1 kilowatt 80PLUS power supply, and clean cable management for easy component upgrades; large, quiet pulse width modulation (PWM) fans; and support for new Enthusiast System Architecture (ESA) enabling real-time and complete PC-performance management.

Speaking at the launch, Girish Mehta, director (Consumer Marketing) of Dell India, said, "We are delighted to bring in our premium XPS gaming machines to India. With the XPS gaming systems, we have been progressively delivering an awe-inspiring experience to gamers across and world and now, we have set the bar for the same in India as well."

The Dell XPS 730 H2C Edition desktops are immediately available, starting at Rs 139,900.

Dell's other major launch, the XPS M1730 notebook aka 'the beast' is the world's first NB to incorporate AGEIA PhysX mobile technology and Logitech's GamePanel LCD. While PhysX helps deliver realistic movement and environmental interaction at incredible speeds without affecting overall performance, GamePanel LCD allows gamers view game statistics, create new macros, and track important system information without leaving the game.

The XPS M1730 features an aggressive brawny design that can be personalized with three color accents: crimson red, sapphire blue, and smoke grey. Dell claims the notebook delivers an incredible mobile gaming experience with support for overclocking of Intel Core 2 Extreme processor X9000 to Bin +2 (up to 3.2GHz), Nvidia SLI technology (with support for DirectX 10 graphics), and AGEIA PhysX 100M processor.
