Dell yesterday announced their redesigned Vostro laptop line for small businesses, introducing worldwide availability of their new 13.1-inches Vostro 1310 and the 15.4-inches Vostro 1510. Additionally, a redesigned 17-inches Vostro 1710 laptop will be offered in June, the company said.

The redesigned laptops sport a sleek form factor, and come with a slot load optical drive. Dell claims their new Vostro 1310 is 13 percent thinner and 10 percent lighter than previous generation Vostro laptops. All new models are claimed to offer more security features than comparable products that include: integrated fingerprint readers, trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2, prevention of unauthorized network access and data theft, cable lock slot, and option for Dell-exclusive, factory-installed McAfee Total Protection for small business security software.Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Anandan, vice president and general manager of Dell India, said, "We're launching this new Vostro based on feedback from our customers. They said they wanted thinner and lighter machines, with longer battery life, all at a good price. We paid attention to what they were saying."

The new Vostro 1310 starts at Rs 40,900 and the 15.4-inches Vostro 1510 starts at Rs 37,900. More information is available at www.dell.com/vostro.
