New AMD Athlon for the entry in 2009

Abandoned by the new Phenom II, the K10 architecture used so far on the Phenom would be entitled to a new start in a renovated with a whole range of new AMD Athlon, according to the online magazine X-Bit Labs.

According to informants of this year, the smelter to market under the brand name AMD Athlon processor with codenames propus, Rana and Regor, all engraved in 45 nanometers.

The AMD Athlon X4 series 600 will be quad-core based on the chip code-named propus, which incorporate a dual DDR2/DDR3 controller (one or the other depending on the employee socket) and 2 MB of cache second-level (or 512 KB per heart). Rana based on the AMD Athlon X3 400 series will be quite logically tri-core 1.5 MB of integrated L2 cache (512 KB always by heart) and dual memory controller. The AMD Athlon X2 series 200 are in turn based on Regor and are dual-core with 1 MB of cache memory controller and a DDR2 and DDR3.

The first two models would be marketed in April 2009, while the latter would be the beginning of June. All were clocked between 2.7 and 2.8 GHz and target entry-level, an area where AMD has excelled despite him a little in recent years, with very affordable rates.
