ViewSonic Corp has made two new additions to its VA Series of LCDs: (both 19-inches) the VA1928wm and the VA1918wm. ViewSonic claims the USP of these monitors is that they are green, i.e. they are energy-saving and eco-friendly display solutions.

What makes the monitors green is their ECO mode wherein the backlight module can be adjusted to Standard (100 percent), Optimize (75 percent), and Conserve (60 percent) lighting power to extend monitor life and reduce overall power consumption. The ECO mode also provides other visual benefits during prolonged display usage. Besides, the monitors are designed to meet stringent worldwide energy savings standards including EnergyStar, RoHS, TCO, 03, and EPEAT Silver certification to reduce overall carbon footprint. For the rest, the monitors sport a thin-bezel design and come with built-in speakers, an integrated power supply, clean cable management system, and VESA mount for easy wall mounting setup. Significantly, they feature a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for superior front-of-the-screen performance for spreadsheet manipulation, project presentation, and Internet research, and a 16:10 aspect ratio for dual-page viewing and quick application navigation. With ClearMotiv video response, they promise blur-free fast-action video. Both displays come Windows Vista Basic-certified.
