With the official announcement of the demise of HD-DVD format earlier this year, and with most Hollywood studios embracing the Blu-ray format, the format war has paved the way for the reign of Blu-ray. Consumers now have a clearer view about which way to go -- there is only one! This is similar to the Sony Betamax vs. VHS war in the '70s. Sony learnt a lesson then, and this time round have emerged jubilant with a winner format -- Blu-ray, which will be the standard for HD content in the coming years.
