Although hardware is also changing, it is not changing at the same pace as software development. And so the procedure of creating software applications has to be a continuous process, irrespective of the surrounding scenarios, in order to keep pace and even overreach your customer's expectations. But making this a false notion is one company, or rather a harbinger in this field, who says the opposite ... that company is Inflectra.
Inflectra is a company which is dedicated to helping their customers - from large corporations to small businesses, private services to government agencies and individual developers – with the means to effectively and affordably manage their software development life cycles, which ultimately leads to reduced times on product marketization and increased ROI.

1) Ultra-portability

While netbooks have been termed ultra-portable, tablets are even more so, thanks to their structure as a single slate, rather than a hinged design like a netbook. Tablets are usually much lighter than netbooks, and their size lets you take them anywhere. Even their chargers are more portable, making it easier to carry the whole thing anywhere.

2) Price

Tablets have come a long way from being too expensive to dirt-cheap, with high end exceptions such as the iPad 2 and the Galaxy Tab. Low end tablets start at around Rs 7000, and pack in a decent performance for daily computing tasks. Netbooks, on the other hand, rarely breach the Rs 12,000 mark, and most are priced above Rs 15,000.

3) Versatility

Most tablets come with Google Android operating system, which gives them access to a huge repository of apps from the Android Market, many of them being free. These apps allow the tablet to do just about anything, thanks to the creativity of the app developers. The above also applies for other tablet OSes such as iOS and BlackBerry OS. This versatility is not so easy to achieve for a netbook.

4) Battery Life

The battery life of a tablet is simply incomparableto that of the netbook. A tablet can easily last for more than half a day on a single charge, while a netbook struggles to make it past four or five hours of normal usage. The better battery life lets you take it anywhere without having to worry much about losing charge in the middle of your work.

5) Internet Connectivity Options
While Wi-Fi is the standard connectivity options on all tablets, they often come with 3G connectivity options using a mobile SIM card. Wi-Fi hotspots are hard to find in India, making 3G connectivity more feasible to stay connected no matter where you take the device. This is a major advantage of tablets over netbooks, which come with only Wi-Fi option.

6) User Interface
Being touch-screen devices, the user interface of tablets is usually refined, intuitive, and user friendly. Not only is the operating system designed to allow for efficient interaction with the user, but also the applications sport a user friendly interface. For those who miss a QWERTY keyboard of the netbook, there are inexpensive keyboards available, which can work with any tablet.

7) Virus-free
Ever heard of viruses attacking tablets? Tablets have so far remain insulated from such attacks. Although it cannot be said that it will remain so forever, it is considerably safe as of now to work on a tablet than on a netbook with Windows, which has always been a prime target of viruses.

That is not all. While this may not really be related to computing, the GPS unit built in many tablets helps use it as an inexpensive navigational tool when it is not being used as a tablet. Netbooks may have been in vogue a couple of years ago, but tablets seem to be set to rule the future.

Both the companies are slamming lawsuits at each other left and right. Not much is spoken about the other aspect of the rivalry, the sales numbers. Apple has been leading the pack for quite a while now with its sales numbers surpassing Samsung's and Nokia's numbers fairly easily. Well, that is history now for Samsung has made its way to the top as the number one manufacturer in the world (in terms of sales) with 23.6 million shipments reported during Q3, with Apple coming in at second place with 17.3 million shipments. These numbers were calculated by IDC, which is a well known research firm. Therefore, Samsung now has 20% of the share of the global smartphone market while Apple is at 15%. Nokia's figures have dramatically dropped with the company losing half of its market share from the last quarter. The Finnish mobile manufacturer had 28% of the total smartphone market share during Q2 and now it has only 14%. RIM's market share also has taken a beating coming down to 10% from 15%. HTC, however, has crept up to the top five list with about 11% of the market share now. That's a growth of 4% from the last quarter. It is importantto bear in mind that shipments do not actually reflect into sales.

So what do these figures tell us? Well, Apple doesn't rule the smartphone segment anymore, though it is being said that the wait for the new iPhone might have been a contributing factor for the low sales. Q4's numbers will give us a better idea of where the companies stand, since by then, most brands will have a flagship of their own. Nokia will have the Lumia in the market, while the iPhone 4S is almost a month old and Samsung is looking at the launch of the Galaxy Nexus. We don't have the numbers on the profits that these companies made but we figure Apple would top that list since it only has a couple of smartphones in its inventory. Either way, Samsung is now sitting right on top and we expect the company to do well in the current quarter as well.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-918468696058930866.post-78924407561758845492011-11-02T19:59:00.000+05:302011-11-02T19:59:22.775+05:30Gmail got renovated
Google has taken up the job to unify most of its services; be it Google +, Google Reader or Google News. With the unification, the company has now given a cool new look to most of it's services. The most recent addition to the makeover list is Gmail, with the web version being updated with some cool features (though mostly cosmetic). The user interface has received a facelift to look more presentable and easy to use.

One of the cool new tweaks to the interface of Gmail is where a user can minimize the size of the browser window to his liking and Gmail automatically adjusts to the window. This is very vital if you usually view 2 or more program windows at once on the screen. Also, the search box on top has been upgraded with the addition of new filters such as 'from', 'to', 'subject', 'has the words' etc, to make searching for emails much more easier. Moving on, the ability to drag the chat box to hide your unimportant labels is a neat UI tweak that most of the users will be looking forward to using.Another feature is where you can select the way you want your list of messages to appear. There are three options to choose from: Comfortable, Cozy and Compact, with Comfortable being the uncluttered view of your mails and Compact displaying most of your mails without taking up too much space. Also, the conversation window has received some minor adjustments to improve user experience, though it's not a major improvement. Lastly, the themes tab has been updated with some cool new high resolution themes so the user will now have a lot to choose from.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-918468696058930866.post-74011644782725581422011-11-02T19:39:00.000+05:302011-11-02T19:39:18.414+05:30Phising attack warning from Microsoft for Windows LiveMicrosoft has warned customers using its web properties, including services associated with Windows Live such as Hotmail, of a new phishing attack designed to steal their sensitive data.

The scam involves a social engineering technique in order to trick users into handing over their account information.

The unsolicited email message claims to be coming from Windows Live Customer Care, although the email is signed by the Windows Live Hotmail Team.

It’s this, and other discrepancies, that should alert users that there’s something seriously dodgy with the email in their inbox.

Attacks resort to attempting to scare Windows Live customers, bogusly threatening them with shutting down their accounts, unless they confirm them.

“This Email is from Windows Live Customer Care and we are sending it to every Windows Live MSN Email Accounts Owner for safety. we(!) are having congestions due to the anonymous registration of Windows Live MSDN accounts so we are shutting down some Windows Live MSN accounts and your account was among those to be deleted,” reads an excerpt from the spam email used in the phishing attack.

“We are sending this email to you so that you can verify and let us know if you still want to use this account.”Users are ill-advised to hand over all sorts of sensitive data, including username, password, date of birth and the country or territory they reside in.
The spam sports a number of evident typos, as such emails often do, and this should be enough to make recipients suspicious as to the email’s legitimacy.

“The bogus email claims to come from Microsoft and asks the recipient to respond to the email with their user name and password to avoid permanent cancellation of their account. This is a scam. Microsoft never asks for user names and passwords in an email,” reveals Microsoft’s Chris Stetkiewicz.

Users should never reply to such messages, and they should never, under any circumstances hand over sensitive info such as the username and password for their accounts.

Samsung's Galaxy Nexus, which will go on sale next month, will be the most advanced smart phone from the Korean giant. It will also be the first phone to run Google's latest operating system, Android 4.0, also known as "Ice Cream Sandwich," following alphabetically from the earlierGingerbread and Honeycomb.

The hardware includes a 1.2 gigahertz dual-core processor, a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display at 1280 by 720 resolution, a five-megapixel camera, HD 1080-pixel video, with one gigabyte of RAM and 16 gigabytes or 32 gigabytes internal memory. Depending on the region, it will support LTE or HSPA+, two 4G mobile communications standards. It has Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, as well as near field communication for payments and data sharing.

As for Android 4.0, rather a lot has been done to enhance the operating system. Google's Android director of user experience, Matias Duarte, showed off some of the new features. He began with the design of the new typeface, called Roboto. This is a sans-serif font that was specifically designed for small screens to make it easier for the user to read.

One of the most talked about features of Apple's iPhone 4S is the voice-operated personal assistant, Siri. At the Hong Kong event, Duarte demonstrated text-to-type by talking into the Galaxy Nexus to send a text message: "Hey, man. I'd love to talk right now, but I'm a little bit busy. I'll catch up with you later period, smiley-face," with which the sentence ended with just that: a period and then a smiley face. The crowd of journalists gave him an ovation for that.

His attempt to show that Face Unlock, which is supposed to unlock the phone when it recognizes the user's face, did not fare quite so well. His partner tried to unlock the phone but failed, which is what was expected. When Duarte then put his face up to the camera, it still did not recognize him. He put that down to the "bright makeup" he needed for the event.

We will continue to focus on our strengths to bring in innovative technologies that would enable consumers to experience technology and derive multiple benefits," Acer India Managing Director W S Mukund said."We have had a successful relationship with Acer in the India market. Acer continues to be No 1 in Croma's IT portfolio of offerings and we believe this will continue with the launch of the Aspire S3 Ultrabook. This is also a testament to the strong partnership values of both Acer and Croma," Infiniti Retail CEO and MD Ajit Joshi.
Acer Aspire S3 is the first ultrabook to be launched in India. Powered by 2nd generation Intel?CoreTMprocessor family, Aspire S3 promises best in class performance combined with improved responsiveness and energy conscious innovations. The shining beacons of Aspire S3 are Acer Green Instant On and Acer Instant Connect features. Instant On delivers fast responsiveness and also provides energy efficiency due to enhanced power management.
Aspire S3 provides up to7 hours of battery life. This feature enables the notebook to fast resume in 1.5 seconds from Sleep (6 seconds from Deep Sleep). Instant Connect provides access to internet in just 2.5 seconds - four times the faster than conventional connections - when resuming. The embedded lithium-polymer battery is super-lightweight and also prevents any accidental bursts.
"With the launch of the Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook, we have charted a new line of course to the mobile computing world by effortlessly combining the essential features of both a notebook and a tablet, says S.Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India.
All that performance and increased responsiveness is packed into an elegant form factor with an aerodynamic design. At just 13 mm (0.51") thickness, Aspire S3 weighs less than 1.4 kgs. The Silver Mg-Al alloy chassis is feather-light, but also strong as steel. The integrated design LCD cuts the bezel thickness by a third but is protected by a resilient case design with aluminum cage for maximum protection. The fingerprint-free Silver-Aluminum alloy lid has a silky smooth feel to it. The innovativedesign also provides a unique thermal efficiency for comfortable use. The bottom of the notebook is vent-free and warm components are placed away from palmrest and touchpad area. Air channeled from the keyboard keeps the notebook cool while warm air is directed to the rear.
Acer clearly intends to position Aspire S3 as a multimedia machine as well. With Intel HD Graphics 3000 in the hood, Aspire S3 also includes Dolby Home Theater v4 for vibrant, cinema-style surround sound and HDMI with HDCP support that allows you to transfer 1080p HD video to monitors, projectors, and TVs. Aspire S3 comes with an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera and includes the latest Bluetooth 4.0+HSR technology. As of now, Aspire S3 only includes USB 2.0 ports, but this is a rollover change and upcoming units in production might see inclusion of USB 3.0 ports.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-918468696058930866.post-89155771349490700202011-10-09T11:41:00.000+05:302011-10-09T11:41:26.089+05:30Samsung brought TransformMobile phone carrier Boost Mobile has just made available for purchase on its airwaves a new highly appealing device, namely the Samsung Transform Ultra.

But the more interesting section I found here was mobile section. In other website you will observe that mobile set are displayed but there are no proper information provided to you so that you can take decision , whether you buy it or not. This website has a number of facilities like you can compare any number of mobile phone with other phones so that you can have a clear cut idea about which one is good. This site also provide you about handset price which you will often not find in other website. One can search for nokia phones India, Motorola, Samsung, HTC, LG, Videocon, Micromax etc and can also see their features. This site aslo provides you the best price in the market which you can easily afford. So last but not the least anyone who is going to buy any handset must have a look at this site and take any decision.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-918468696058930866.post-68710668980786429972011-03-08T17:02:00.001+05:302011-03-18T22:41:05.889+05:30Consumermate.com-the latest address for tech crazy people
Long time ago when gadgets mostly computer products came into market many people were sceptical about the product which they are going to buy. This next camera applications processor from Ambarella is dubbed the iOne. What’s atypical about it is the fact that the iOne SoC can be expected to support a category of smart cameras based on Android.

The SoC is projected to enable up to 32MP still image processing and high-speed capture of 5MP images at 30fps. It’s claimed to be the first ever low-power 1080p60 decoder accommodating full 3D HD decoding on a mobile OS platform. We’re also looking at 3D photoand video capture with the addition of Ambarella’s S3D pre-processor for stereoscopic HD video and still image shooting with this development.
“Coupling our proven video and imaging processing expertise with the Android platform enables next generation cameras to take a significant leap forward in user experiences and capabilities. The iOne will fundamentally change the way consumers capture, create and share visual content. We are very excited about the possibilities,” trilled Fermi Wang, Ambarella CEO.

A smart camera based on Android and embedding the iOne will be able to work with a number of interfaces including dual CMOS sensor inputs, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet, analog video out, transport stream and much more. Apart from strong support for GPS, Bluetooth, FM, Mobile TV and Wi’Fi 802.11n, the processor can offer concurrent encoding of a full HD 1080p30 stream and a second stream for uploading to the internet or streaming via Wi-Fi.

The iOne employs a triple ARM CPU architecture that’s designed for low-power mobile media applications. A 533MHz ARM-11 deals with real-time camera tasks and allows a camera boot time of less than a second. At the same time, a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 CPU supplies the energy to operate Android applications.

Ambarella’s iOne SoC is currently being shipped in sample quantities to early access customers. So the word on when we can expect to see smart cameras running Android will obviously have to wait a bit.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-918468696058930866.post-65115230864316498772010-12-25T19:13:00.000+05:302010-12-25T19:13:07.783+05:30Sony’s PSPgo Hits Stores
With Christmas all girded up to strike, gaming admirers are just offered an alluring treat to make their festive season even more desirable.

As you will certainly remember, search-engine giant Google officially introduced a couple of weeks ago its first-ever netbook, the Cr-48, meant to offer at glimpse at the future Chrome operating system's capabilities, and made it available within its Pilot program (sort of a beta-testing initiative).

However, as GizInChina reports, it seems that, if you happen to live in China and you have 7,777.77 Chinese yuan (roughly 1,170.84216 U.S. Dollars) to spare, you'll be able to get one of the new Cr-48 netbooks even if you haven't qualified for the aforementioned program, since the item was listed as being available for saleon one of China's largest online sales portals, Taobao (with no less than 77 pieces being available in stock)

While the photos posted within the respective listing seem to be genuine enough (we've also added them to our article, so you can check them out directly), there's very little technical info to go on, the vendors informing possible customers that the device sports a 12-inch display, an Atom CPU running at 2.66 Ghz, a built-in 3G module and 64GB of built-in flash memory.
As far as we're concerned, the listing on Taobao has two possible explanations: either we're talking about clones (which shouldn't be much of a surprise, given the fact that, after all, Chine is the land of knock-offs), or about genuine Cr-48 netbooks that were more or less voluntarily misplaced (we seriously doubt that Google would actually sell these things in China, since it's not doing it anywhere else around the world).

However, we wont' probably get to know the truth about these netbooks unless someone actually gets to purchase one, and if one of you happens to do so, please, don't hesitate to drop a line in our comments section.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-918468696058930866.post-56299641081179499702010-12-24T20:55:00.000+05:302010-12-24T20:55:27.718+05:30Introducing India's phone with windows 7

After months of waiting, India has finally gotten its first Windows Phone 7 release – and there are two of them!
